Marcus “Max”

Ever since he was born in October 1968 in Vienna, there was but one interest to him: going to exotic places and experiencing adventures with his friends. “Away” has always been his favourite place to be – this is why he ran away regularly from his grandmom and parents as a kid. When he could afford travelling by train and plane, he did a few smaller trips to Greece, Italy and Spain. “Proper” travelling started, when he crossed Europe with his motorbike and Australia in 1988/89. In the years 1993 to 1995 his travels took him to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Cook Island, Hawaii and North America. Definitely, these experiences were the most amazing ones in his life and determined his future interest: nowadays, he designs Wombat’s The City Hostel – so, if anybody knows what a hostel should look like and how to make it work, then he does.


Sascha “The Roman”

Born in the same year 1968 in August, he has but one favourite place to be: Rome. He has stayed there about 20 times already and nobody knows exactly why or what he has been doing there – but perhaps it is better this way. The funny thing is that he looks like a Roman too… (…hmm, there is something not quite right with the story about his origin, so it seems). Anyway, his first tramping experience was back in 1988/89, when he travelled Australia and Asia. Following Cat Steven’s “Father and Son”, he soon settled down and became father of 4 children. Finally, he is a great story teller (if you like those kind of stories) and the financial brain of Wombat’s The City Hostel.
