Good things come to those who wait. After delays caused by both coronavirus and a burst water pipe on the construction site (which didn’t harm anyone except the schedule), the time has come – Wombat’s City Hostel Munich Werksviertel is finally opening its doors.
No one is more excited than us, that’s why Wombat’s will celebrate this significant day together with friends & family, partners & guests, travellers & locals.
It’s only right to commemorate our new hostel the Bavarian way, and so, we will begin with a keg-tapping at 3pm with Werner Fuchs (Hofbräu) and the two founders of Wombat’s, Marcus and Sascha.
Then it’s time for a stroll through the new house. Check out the eclectic design of our vibrant common areas, stylish café/bar and our cosy new rooms. Also on view are our brand-new multifunctional bunkbeds with integrated luggage locker, personal safe, reading lamp with mobile phone charger/holder, fan and curtains for complete privacy.
To introduce Wombat’s new gastro concept, a series of tastings are on the programme:
- Mike Neureiter, Wombat’s creative partner and head of Vienna’s “Brauwerk” will pour and discuss Wombat’s very own craft beer “Wavebreaker“
- Get to know our cider partners at BlakStoc Cider with Karl Karigl
- Latte Art – Grandmaster Benji Graf will use professional hardware from “La Cultura del Café” to conjure up frothy creations from our own Wombat’s Roast
- All this will be accompanied by biodynamic wines from Vienna’s Wieninger winery and gourmet toast creations from our new bar menu
More about the products & partners here.
Crowning the day (and beginning the night) we will introduce our brand-new music and culture initiative womBEATS (more to come this year). We have live music from 20:00 courtesy of Irish singer-songwriter Shane Ó Fearghail & The Host (see photo above) as well as special (local) guest Karin Rabhansl.
Finally, DJ XTOPH will guide you from the open house into the open-ended party.
