After Corona forced a two year hiatus, the time has finally come again - Munich’s Oktoberfest is back! This year’s comeback arrives with some exciting news.

Most importantly (with a slight Wombat's bias), this will be the first Wies'n where we have two fully operational hostels in Munich. To mark this occasion, we’ve put together a special package for both of these houses - Munich Hauptahnhof and Munich Werskviertel.

Apart from that, what are the other important details? Reservations at Oktoberfest are usually only possible by the table (booked well in advance) - but for the first time there is the opportunity to make individual reservations, including a Wiesnkrug and a guided tour of the city. The bad news is that the package is offensively priced, even by Munich standards and there are only a few remaining slots.

The good news, however, is that entry to Oktoberfest is basically free and there is always room for guests without reservations. If you don't want to find yourself in endless queues, take a look at the Oktoberfest barometer. A good rule of thumb - during the week and the earlier in the day, the less busy it is. The Wiesn opens at 9am and beer starts being served at midday.

We have regulars who swear by a Maß as a late breakfast of champions ;-)

There are no official Corona measures or restrictions in place. Everything else is the same as ever: the beer is priced between €12.80 and €16.80 for a Maß, backpacks and large bags are forbidden and the tents close at 11:30pm.

Getting from Wombat's to the Oktoberfest

From Wombat's City Hostel Hauptbahnhof it is a nice 10 minute walk.

From City Hostel Werksviertel take the S1, S3, S4, S8 directly from Munich East Station to Marienplatz which also takes around 10 minutes.
