There are many reasons to travel in fall: Summer high season is over. It’s time to travel. The time is ripe for a new adventure. It’s time to travel. The highest temperatures in Europe’s cities should be gone. It’s time to travel… ;-)

To give you a few more reasons, we’ve collected some of the most outstanding events happening in “our” cities this fall.

Vienna

Wiener Wiesn | 24 September–11 October

Munich has Oktoberfest. Vienna has the “Wiener Kaiser Wies’n”. It’s smaller and perhaps a little less traditional than its Munich sibling, but the ingredients are all there: music, partying and plenty of beer served in steins. Prost, Vienna style.

Waves Vienna | 1–3 October

The boutique music festival takes over various venues across Vienna, with more than 100 live acts on the programme. There’s also the Waves Vienna Conference, featuring lectures, panels and workshops.

Wombat’s, again, is a proud partner of Waves Vienna! We even have a WomBEATS artist on the bill: GOT’YA (photo) will perform on Saturday, 3 October.

Vienna Night Run | 17 September

Fancy running around one of Vienna’s most spectacular boulevards at night? The Vienna Night Run takes you on one lap around the Ringstraße, lined with some of the city’s most impressive historic sights. No sightseeing bus required.

Oktoberfest | 19 September–4 October

Munich Marathon | 11 October

A runners’ festival with a city-wide party atmosphere. The marathon route takes you through Munich’s city centre and the Olympiapark – and right through Werksviertel, too.

The world’s biggest K-Pop tribute show is coming to Germany for the first time. Expect hits from BLACKPINK, BTS, TWICE and “K-Pop Demon Hunters” at BMW Park.

Be where the buzz is. London will be packed with VIPs, paparazzi, content creators and fashion lovers – and with very good reason: One of the Big Four international fashion weeks is in town.

Budapest Wine Festival | 9–12 September

For 35 years, the Budapest Wine Festival has been a defining meeting point for Hungarian wine culture. Set against the stunning backdrop of Buda Castle Palace, it brings together wine, food and live music.

Downtown Beer Festival | 1–6 September

Where’s wine, there usually is also beer. ;-) This September, the Downtown Beer Festival returns to Szabadság tér for its 10th edition, bringing six days of golden pours, late-summer evenings and one of the city’s most relaxed open-air vibes.

And yes, it’s within walking distance to our City Hostel!

National Galopp | 2–4 October

The National Galopp celebrates the history and tradition of horse racing in Hungary. The 17th edition takes place around the impressive Heroes’ Square, with races, concerts, food stalls, wine stalls and plenty of festive action.

Hungary’s largest running event takes you on routes passing UNESCO World Heritage sites. It’s a two-day running festival with music, crowds, parties and plenty of different distances and races. Whether you’re running, cheering or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there’s plenty going on.
