The release of Sam's debut album skyrocketed him to something akin to 'fame-like status' in a certain corner of the music industry.
European tours were planned and played, and many of the continent's biggest festivals came calling. Soon enough, plans were in place for
touring North America, South Africa (supporting Frank Turner) and beyond. Then, when the world shut down in 2020 - shortly after Sam's debut release, it all went away. When the industry is scrambling to survive, no one has time for newcomers.
While the industry got back on its feet, Sam got back on his. The same ambition, determination, and joy - which took him from cold street corners to recording
an album in Katy Perry's old house - burns in him today. His incredible journey, with all its highs and lows, have taught him one thing above all else: not even the world shutting down can stop him making music.
Maddy Rose
Austrian singer, songwriter MARIE weaves melancholic poetry with playful indie/vintage pop with her guitarist Simon. Her jazzy, breathy voice is reminiscent of a German-speaking Norah Jones, creating a balance of jazz, retro pop, and soul.
