Concentration Camp – Memorial Site
The first Nazi concentration camp and former prototype for later camps is now the Dachau Memorial Site (established in 1965). This is the best maintained camp, and therefore it is well worth the trip. Site admission is free and includes a 22-minute documentary film as well as access to the grounds, memorials and the comprehensive exhibitions.
Daily: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Closed on 24 December. Archives and administration offices closed on Mondays.
The trip takes about 38 minutes from the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof).
At the Hauptbahnhof go to the S-Bahn (follow the green )
Take the S2 (Dachau / Petershausen)
Exit the train at the Dachau station (approx. 21 minutes)
Take the 726 Bus (Saubachsiedlung)
Exit the bus at the KZ-Gedenkstätte (approx. 7 minutes).

2-5 People München XXL Partner-Tageskarte = €13.60
~ The Tageskarte is valid until 6 am on all busses, trams, S-Bahn and U-Bahn within the “XXL” area.
~ Bayern Ticket holders can travel with their ticket(s) at no extra cost.
~ Eurail Pass holders will be able to travel with the S-Bahn, but will need to purchase a “Kurzstrecke” (“K”) ticket for €1.20 to use the bus.
