How Our New Partnership with myclimate Supports Financing Certified Climate Projects
Travel broadens horizons, but it also comes with responsibility. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new partnership with myclimate, an internationally recognized organization dedicated to climate protection.
With this cooperation, we want to offer our guests a simple and transparent way to support certified projects for clean drinking water, forest conservation, and energy efficiency.
How does it work?
When booking your stay at Wombat’s City Hostels, you can choose to tick an optional box and add €0.50 to your booking. For every guest contribution, Wombat’s City Hostels adds another €0.50, doubling the total contribution.
The collected funds are invested in two areas:
One Part will support certified climate protection projects, including clean drinking water initiatives and deforestation prevention in Uganda, as well as sustainable forest management projects in Austria. These projects support climate protection and can also contribute to improving living conditions in the long term.
Apart from that, Wombat's is exploring additional energy-efficiency measures at its own locations. As a first step, we are currently evaluating the implementation of smart heating control systems in City Hostel Vienna and City Hostel Budapest with the aim of reducing energy consumption.
It's Optional
Together with our guests, we support projects focused on clean drinking water, forest conservation, and energy efficiency. Transparency is key to us: this additional contribution for myclimate is completely optional and does not affect our room rates.
