Famous Thermal Baths

Budapest has more thermal and medicinal water springs than any other capital city in the world. Budapest‘s thermal waters were enjoyed by the Romans as early as the 2nd century, but it was only during the Turkish occupation of Hungary in the 16th century that the bath culture really started flourishing. Today, there are 15 public thermal baths in Budapest, not counting the private thermal spas established in some luxury hotels. The spa at the Hotel Gellért is a public bath. Some of the baths arrange special programs (like awesome parties!).

Rudas  Döbrentei tér 9 (at the foot of the Buda bridgehead of the Erzsébet bridge).

Széchenyi  Állatkerti körút 9–11 (in the city park).

Gellért  Kelenhegyi út 4 (at the Buda bridgehead of the Szabadság bridge).

Note: before you go swashing, check with reception to make sure it´s not a male-only or female-only day at the bath of your choice!

MargaretIsland (Margit-sziget)

Budapest´s most popular park, right between Buda and Pest. Cars are forbidden so enjoy a breath of fresh air right in the City!

Though urban life is fun, at one point, we all long to be back to the arms of mother nature. In great cities it is extremely difficult to find green areas, but fortunately, the Hungarian capital has its own wonderful emerald isle! Planning to go on a long run? Would like to meditate, take a short walk,or just a chill at a peaceful place? Then MargaretIsland, with its lovely paths, blooming flowers and verdant trees is the place what you need!
