Together with Kindernothilfe: Help Create Safe Spaces

Kindernothilfe is a development cooperation organization that supports children in need across 33 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, while also advocating for their rights. For more than 25 years, Kindernothilfe has been providing essential support such as adequate nutrition, clean drinking water, healthcare, and access to education. Their work enables vulnerable girls and boys to attend school, receive medical care, and build brighter futures.

Wombat’s City Hostels has been a proud partner of Kindernothilfe Österreich for many years. In line with our philosophy of offering young people “safe spaces,” Wombat’s also supports the organization’s mission to create safe environments for children worldwide.

Last week, our City Hostel Vienna hosted an event for Kindernothilfe’s “Share it – Women for Women Club.” This initiative brings together strong women as ambassadors who act as multipliers, raising awareness of Kindernothilfe Austria’s important work within their own networks.

During the event, 20 “Share it” ambassadors gathered in our breakfast area to discuss the current focus project: supporting women’s self-help groups in Uganda, including an upcoming trip in October to visit the initiative. They also explored topics for 2026, such as continuing support for women’s self-help groups in Uganda, assisting fishing families and fighting child labor, and establishing a shelter and education center in Mumbai that will provide daily meals for up to 500 children.
