Vintage car rally on the Ring Street / 02.09.2010
A rolling museum will be on display on Vienna’s ring road on 4 September: The Rallye di Vienna presents more than 200 vehicles and therefore 100 years of automobile history. With international participants and more than 50 different car brands.
The Rallye di Vienna starts at 9:00 a.m. at the southern outskirts of Vienna. The vintage cars take a shorter route, while the sports cars set off to conquer the route through the Vienna Woods with time trials.
From 1.00 pm, more than 12,000 enthusiastic motor fans are expected in the centre of Vienna at the Vintage Car Festival on Heldenplatz next to the Vienna Imperial Palace. At 3.00 pm, the starting flag goes down for the great Vienna Circuit: Magnificent buildings such as the parliament, stock exchange und opera form the magnificent backdrop on the ring road. Other attractive stops along the way are in front of Schloss Belvedere and in the Vienna Prater - the grand final will be celebrated in front of the giant ferris wheel from 6.00 pm.
