The Into the City open-air event presents four hours of world music from Vienna, Barcelona and New York. Moderated by Dirk Stermann and Christoph Grissemann, the concert will start off with top stars of the international Balkan music scene: Balkan Beat Box from New York offer a unique mix of new klezmer, Balkan beats and dancehall. The concert finale will be in the hands of Ojos de Brujo from Barcelona on the ensemble’s first visit to Vienna.
A unique feature will be the “100,000 Roses Project”. On the evening of 15 May, prominent personalities from the fields of culture, society, sports, economy and science will distribute these 100,000 roses among the concert audience and invite them to pass on each flower to another person with a migrant background – for more friendship, for smoother coexistence, for X-change.
