Amerlingbeisl
Daily 9:00 am – 2:00 am. Lovely green backyard. Brekkie until 3:00 pm, brunch Saturday and Sunday. The chef presents a different menu every week and offers quite decent stuff according to season, all at very reasonable prices.
Centimeter 2
Open daily 10:00 am – 1:00 am. Great Pub-style restaurant: order your bread by the centimetre! Schnitzels, pasta and yummy Bavarian beer. Best is the „Scheibtruhe Mist“ (wheelbarrow of garbage): enough food for (at least) five people, € 36,00, or 1 meter Spaghetti – that´s the size of the bowl, not the noodle (€ 25,00). There are six Centimeter restaurants already, strategically placed in and around the student ghetto.
Schnitzelwirt
Mon-Sat 11:00 am – 11:00 pm, Sun & public holidays closed. Has XXL Schnitzels and the prices don’t hurt your wallet.
Tunnel
Daily 9:00 am – 2:00 am. On three floors. Live music every night. Cheap breakfast. Lunch-time specials from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm for € 5,00. Great & cheap food but very slow service. A big student hang out.
St. Josef
Mon-Fri 9:00 am – 18:30 pm, Sat 8:00 am – 16:00 pm. The best vegetarian organic food place in town. They have one menu per day – you cannot imagine how many different things can be included in one dish. Also they have a spectacular salad/vegetable buffet and lush cakes! We love their variety!
Bamboo
Daily 11:30 am – 11:30 pm. Modern Asian restaurant with teppanyaki buffet. Happy Hour from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Samrat
Mon-Sat 11:30 am – 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm – 11:00 am. Our favourite Indian in town – huge amounts of excellent food for little money. Beware: if the menu says “hot”, it is no exaggeration here
Vapiano
Daily 11:00 am – 1:00 am. You will find a Vapiano in your home town pretty soon, so check it out. You get a smartcard at the entrance; equipped with that, order your food at various counters, where it’ll be prepared right in front of you – no processed food here! Their salad and pasta are outstanding. Service fast, friendly and professional. Awesome!
Akakiko
On top floor of the Gerngross department store. Daily 10:00 am – 12:00 am. Korean-owned (yes!) Sushi chain with great reputation and even greater views from their terrace!
Soya Sushi
Mon-Sat 10:30 am – 11:00 pm. Hidden in a passage way. Small, cute restaurant – always crammed but delicious and low priced.
Vegetasia
Daily 11:30 am – 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm – 11:00 pm. The first Taiwanese-vegetarian restaurant in Austria, exists since 1992. Vegan dishes are also available.
Deli
Mon-Sat 07:00 am – 10:00 pm, Sunday closed, excellent breakfast till 4:00 pm, cool people (watching), DJ-Line in the evening. Usually very busy but worth waiting for your sandwich. Opposite is DO´AN (also closed on Sun), serves great salads and sandwiches. Just as Bo-Bo (Bourgeois Bohemien) as the Deli, and equally packed on Saturday afternoons.

Just around the corner. Daily 6:00 pm -6:00 am, at least. Damn original Viennese restaurant & drinking hole. Hearty meals served all night and a wide assortment ...
Happy Chinese
Mon - Sat 11:30 am - 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm -11:00 pm, Sun 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Just around the corner from “The Base”. Very friendly Chinese restaurant, staffs speak English.
Sato
Daily 8:00 am – 12:00 am. Conveniently located Turkish restaurant - just a few steps from the hostel.
Pizzeria Mafiosi
Daily 11:00 am-12:00 pm. The pizzas are delicious, the size of UFOs and very cheap. Don’t backchat the waiters or Al Capone will sort you out.
