On 27 August the venerable Ringstraße between City Hall and the State Opera will transform into the biggest dance floor in Vienna.

Dozens of DJs and live acts will occupy Vienna's Ringstraße for a day in the middle of August in order to demonstrate for love, peace and happiness. The organizers want to use music trucks to draw attention to the local clubbing scene. Thousands of visitors dance and laugh together each year - for a better, more colorful world.

It's not every day you have the opportunity to walk along a grand boulevard such as the Ringstraße when emptied of traffic - cars and even trams are banned for the entire afternoon from this mile of music and partying.

The parade starts at 2.30 pm at the Vienna State Opera and moves along slowly, past the Museum of Art and Natural History and Parliament towards City Hall.

The Music Film Festival will also be held there on City Hall Square on the same evening. Starting at 8.40 pm, it hosts a spectacular VJ Show combining visuals and music - with Vienna Calling and DJ Observer, Tom Snow and others. at 11 pm some after-show parties begin at various locations throughout the city.
