Run Vie Festival / 06.09.2011
A week of club sounds of tomorrow can be enjoyed from 3 September at the third Run Vie Festival. Vienna has become an internationally valued breeding ground of new club music in recent years.
The Run Vie Festival runs for one week and turns Vienna into a melting pot of different producers, scenes and cultures, with international and local musicians, bands and DJs.
Several British acts will be there: the post-dubstep band Darkstar, the city poet Ghostpoet, Girl Unit and Egyptrixx. Flying in from the USA will be the influential music project Dopplereffekt, established in the 1990s, as well as Virgo Four, which has been reborn after taking a creative break. Naturally, the greats of Vienna's electronic scene are represented, including Dorian Concept, Ogris Debris, Cid Rim and The Clonious.
Run Vie ranges from futuristic Hip-Hop to electronic dance music at very different venues: from the jazz club Porgy & Bess, the WUK and the MuseumsQuartier (with the festival headquarters in quartier21) to various fringe locations. On 9 September, visual artists make the live acts in the MAK a visual pleasure.
Exciting things also take place beyond the concert program: exhibitions, films, workshops and artists talks as well as the Sneakerness Convention on 10 September, at which the newest and most original models of the popular shoe will be laid out and offered for sale.
