The Museum Startgalerie Artothek support local Artists with exhibitions since the 60s.
From 1951 onwards, the City of Vienna promoted the fine arts not only by supporting exhibitions, but also by acquiring selected works from the studios of significant local artists. As a result, the City of Vienna has created one of the largest collections of contemporary art in Austria, comprising 23,000 works by 4,000.
