Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr. (»Kiss Kiss Bang Bang«, »Chaplin«) stars as Iron Man in this story based on the Marvel Comics character, which follows billionaire playboy industrialist and genius inventor Tony Stark who makes weapons for the U.S. government. While out on a field test of one of his inventions, he is wounded, kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon for the enemy. Instead, however, he builds himself a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. When he returns home and uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he revises his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man.
