My flight arrives to Vienna at 10:30 in the morning. What time does check in start? If I get there too early will I be able to store my bags?

Usually check in starts at 2pm but if you are lucky - your room is ready sooner than that. My suggestion would be to just drop by as soon as you get to town, and in case the room isn't ready yet, we will hold on to your bags and you can start your sight-seeing program without draging your bags around.See you in Vienna!

Im Doppelzimmer sind Handtücher schon am Zimmer und einen Föhn kannst du dir jederzeit (gegen € 10,- Pfand) an der Rezeption ausleihen!

I would like to thank you for a pleasant stay - we stayed only for one night, but in my opinion, you took the club and beat those expensive hotels all around Wien to the ground! Those few contacts with personnel was super-pleasant suprise. You are friendly enough to make me come again :-)

Wir waren mit unsere 4.KLassen für 2 Tage bei Euch. Die Zimmer waren OK und auch das Frühstück. Die Lage ist für kurze Wienaufenthalt perfekt! Ich muss aber bemerken, dass dieses Quartier für 14-jährige nicht geeignet ist, da in diesem Haus (The Base) bis 2:30 Uhr Parties gefeiert werden und somit die Kinder nicht einmal wenn sie wollten, die Nachruhe einhalten konnten. Im Haus befindet sich eine Bar und auch in den Gängen geht es bis circa 3 Uhr richtig rund. Alle anderen Jugendlichen Im Quartier waren Jugendliche, die Alkohol konsumieren durften. Unsere Zimmer waren in verschiedenen Stockwerken und Gängen, somit waren unsere Kids von lärmenden alkoholisierten Jugendlichen umringt!
Wir können dieses Quartier leider für Kinder unter 18 Jahren keinesfalls weiterempfehlen!

Man kann bei uns in den Seitenstraßen gratis parken, muss nur manchmal ein bisschen nach einem freien Parkplatz suchen.

Solltest du ein Parkhaus bevorzugen gibt es 2 Minuten zu Fuß von uns ein Parkhaus, dass jedoch nicht günstig ist.

Solltest du dir bei Ankunft nicht sicher sein, kannst du gerne einfach bei unserer Rezeption nachfragen.

Had a great stay even though it was only one night. The staff were really helpful and the room was nice and clean. The Wombar was well enjoyed by us all :)
We'd definately stay here again!

was mich an euren hotel so stört, ist das jeden tag partys gefeiert werden und es unglaublich laut ist.
in unser zimmer waren 6 schließ fächer aber nur einer ließ sich schließen.
als früstück gibt es bei euch nur alte semmel und nutella.
euer hotel hat 7 stockwerke und euer aufzug funktieoniert sehr schlecht.
ich empfehle euch eine neue einzubauen !
ich musste jeden tag bis ins 6 stockwerk hochlaufen, weil der aufzug 5 min brauch un erst ma unten zu sein !
euer hotel oder wie ihr es auch nennen möchtet hat mir kein bischen gefallen!

Schade, dass es dir bei uns nicht gefallen hat.
Ja, wir feiern immer Partys. Das liegt nicht wirklich an uns, sondern an den Gästen, die Party machen wollen. Ohrstöpsel sind also generell nicht verkehrt (in den meisten Hostels).
Es schließt immer nur ein Schlüssel ein Schließfach in den Zimmern, damit man nicht das Schließfach von einem anderen Gast aufmachen kann.
Wir haben übrigens neben Semmeln und Nutella auch 2 Sorten Vollkornbrot, Toastbrot, Käse, Schinken, Salami, verschiedene Aufstriche, verschiedene Marmeladen, Honig, Leberwurst, Gemüse, Joghurt, Cornflakes, Müsli, Obstsalat. Und Butter.
Stimmt, unser lift ist kein Expresslift. Es kann sein, dass wenn viel los ist, man 5 Minuten warten muss.

me and my friends are planning a visit to Wien in september, and we come from Prague.
We were very interested in this youth hostel (The Base).
But I noticed that they are renewing the Westbahnhof trainstation. But I'm not sure about that, because I didn't find that much information on the internet and my German is not that good :)

I wonder if you could give me some more information on that issue? Are we able to reach the city center easily from the hostel?

That is true, trains from Prague now end either at Meidling (from there you can take the metro U6 to Westbahnhof) or at Südbahnhof (from there you can take the tram 18 to Westbahnhof); both ways will take you about 15-20 min. to the hostel. From the hostel you can take another metro and within 5 stops you are in the city center.

Wir haben leider keine eigene Tiefgarage, aber es gibt eine gleich in der Nebenstraße (kostenpflichtig). Abgesehen davon kann man bei uns auch in der Seitenstraßen gratis parken. Solltet ihr euch nicht sicher sein, ob ihr in einer Kurzparkzone steht oder nicht, dann fragt bei Ankunft nochmals genauer an der Rezeption.

Ich habe da mal eine Frage, ich werde mit meiner Stufe vom 11.4-15.4 bei euch Gast sein. Die Stufenlehrer meinten, dass sie uns erst bei der Ankunft sagen können was es für eine Zimmeraufteilung gibt. Könnt ihr mir schon mehr verraten?Da wir planen wollen wer mit wem auf ein Zimmer geht. :) Wir sind alle so gespannt und freuen uns schon sehr!:)

Da muss ich dich leider enttäuschen, Fliegengitter haben wir keine. In Wien gibt es aber kaum Flieen und Gelsen nur für einige Wochen. Einfach das Fenster erst dann aufmachen wenn das Licht abgeschalten ist, dann musst du dir auch darüber keine Gedanken machen! :-)

Regarding the safety I would say it is hard to estimate: there have been some incidents with cars being damaged, but that is a thing which might happen in every area in Vienna; so if you want to be completely safe rather take the garage.

We don't have our onw garage, but there is on street parking (in the small side streets around the "Base" you can just park on the street for free), or there is a public garage 2 minutes to walk from the hostel, but that would be pretty expensive.

If you are not sure, if you parked in a free street, just ask at the reception when checking in!

Wir halten uns natürlich an das österreichische Jugendschutzgesetz und dementsprechend schenken wir Bier und Wein an 16+ und andere/stärkere Alkohole nur and 18+ aus.

Wenn du über das Internet (Hostelworld, Hostelbookers,etc.) gebucht hast und damit schon per Kreditkarte eine 10% Anzahlung geleistet hast, wird die Reservierung gehalten, auch wenn du später als angegeben ankommst. Unsere rezeption ist 24h besetzt, also kein Stress;-))

Wir haben leider weder in der Lounge noch in der Base verstellbare Lattenroste, aber du kannst dir gerne an der rezeption einen zusätzlichen Polster holen, damit es z.B. zum Lesen bequemer ist.

Wir haben zwar leider keine Gästeküche, aber es gibt in der Bar eine kleine Kochecke mit Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Besteck und Tellern, die unsere Gäste gerne benützen können.
