Art in the public domain / 12.06.2011

Works of art can not only be seen in Vienna’s museums and galleries. Many corners of the city are dotted with art in the public domain – from installations to sculpture.

Works by international and Austrian artists are presented at selected locations in Vienna. Amongst the works on view are objects by Tony Cragg, Heimo Zobernig, Fritz Wotruba, Alfred Hrdlicka, Franz West, Rachel Whiteread and Henry Moore.

The aim of Art in the public domain is to invigorate and enhance public urban spaces with temporary and permanent projects. So, look around yourself the next time you go for a walk through the city. There is art to admire on almost every corner in Vienna. There are currently 45 exhibit points.
