Summer in the MQ
Vienna's MuseumsQuartier (MQ) is one of ten largest cultural districts in the world. The mix of large museums, small cultural initiatives and trendy bars is a success story.
Built by the Baroque architect Fischer von Erlach, the former imperial stables have now established themselves as an independent city district.
The Summer at the MQ is dedicated to the tenth anniversary and begins on May 5, 2011 with an opening party in cooperation with Vienna‟s private university, the Konservatorium Wien. Come relax in the gardens with boules tracks, cool sounds and stylish summer furniture in the courtyard of the MuseumsQuartier until the beginning of October. In addition to the famous Enzis, the new Enzos seats have been in use since last year.
The anniversary will be officially celebrated on June 30 with a ceremony and open-air events. Bands from all over Europe and an impressive 3D show ensure a festive atmosphere.
The ImPulsTanz festival opens on July 14 in the courtyard of the MuseumsQuartier with a great Bollywood spectacle. The literature festival O-Töne and the frame[o]ut film festival will also offer special anniversary programs in the summer.
The museums and cultural institutions will also offer equally attractive exhibitions in summer. There are also many open-air works of art to admire
