KlezMore Festival / 15.11.2010
Jewish world music will be at the heart of the KlezMORE Festival in Vienna this November.
It is not just the music at the KlezMORE Festival, into its seventh year in 2010, that covers a broad spectrum. The billing includes traditional and contemporary Klezmer performances, flanked by a series of films, readings, tours and talks designed to put Jewish world music into context. The variety of venues is something of an urban voyage of discovery - from the Badeschiff on Danube canal to various churches in the second and twentieth districts, and the Jewish Cemetery in Vienna's Währing district.
The 2010 festival once again takes stock of what is going on where in the contemporary Klezmer scene, with a packed musical program and countless fringe events. Bands include Argentina's Lerner y Moguilevsky, the Budapest Klezmer Band, Oy Division from Tel Aviv and the Klesmer Wien ensemble.
