11 festival for fashion & photography / 07.06.2011
The fashion scene is to descend on Vienna from 6 to 11 June for the "11 festival for fashion & photography". This event provides a compact program featuring contributions on the subject of fashion, photography and creativity.
Vienna will become the center of fashion in June. At the "11 festival for fashion & photography", the creative potential of Austria's fashion scene will present itself in all its glory. Fashion shows and collections presentations, performances, lectures, seminars and exhibitions will be staged at a variety of venues across Vienna.
The festival is opened with a Guerilla Store in the Liska fashion house, where creations by Austrian designers can be purchased. The Museum of Ethnology is the central venue for this year's festival. This is where the fashion shows and presentation of the AFA Austrian Fashion Awards will take place. Discussions with experts are on the program on 7 June, while 11 exhibitions on the subject of fashion photography open across the city in the evenings.
On 9 and 10 June, visitors will enter the fashion world of yesteryear - on special guided tours through the portrait gallery in the Museum of Fine Arts and the Collection of Arms and Armor. The final day of the festival is dedicated entirely to China: on 11 June, there is a guided tour of the exhibition "The Culture of the Cultural Revolution" and a fashion show by four young Chinese designers. Both events will be held in the Museum of Ethnology.
