No worries about the bathrooms; In all our Wombats-Hostels the rooms includes a bathroom with Toilet and Shower!

In beiden Häusern gibt es eine Bar die täglich von 18:00 - 2:00 geöffnet ist (gut um Leute kennenzulernen um sein Heimweh zu überwinden und auch Party zu machen). Weiters gibt es natürlich jederzeit die Möglichkeit sich ein Glas Wasser in der Gästeküche bzw an der Bar zu holen.

Ich wollte fragen, ob es bei beiden Hostels eine art gästeküche gibt :)
Denn wenn man in der Nacht was trinken will, muss man dann in die Küche oder muss man was von daheim mitbringen?

Hi, I'm just looking for some accommodation for myself and my husband in vienna over new years. You have some space in the 6 bed dorm on the 31st and 1st, but i notice it states you require a 3 night booking. I wondered if it was possible just to book for 2 nights, as no mixed dorms available on the 30th?

Unfortunately reservations can only be made online (by providing a credit card) during the period of new years – between December 27th and January 1st.

You can check our availability and make reservations through our booking engine, which you can find on our website:

Sorry, we don´t have a guest kitchen, but we have a microwave in our breakfast area which our guests can use.
Additionally we offer cheap snacks at our bar from 6 p.m. on.

Eigenen Parkplatz haben wir nicht, aber du kannst überall in den Seitengassen (nur nicht auf der Hauptstrasse, der Mariahilferstrasse, dort kostet das was) rund ums Hostel parken, manchmal muss man zwar ein paar Minuten suchen, aber schlussendlich hat noch jeder einen gefunden;-)

I`m happy to hear that you had a great time at ou hostel!!

Well, with the list of songs, it is a bit difficult as we have about hundred different playlists in our music computer and the bar staff ussually mixes some songs in between and don`t stick to the playlist, but if you remember some songs; i can see if I find them in one playlist and send that one to you. On which dates have you been to the bar, maybe I can ask the bar staff whether they remember the playlist.

im Eintrag unter mir wurde geantwortet, dass die Preise für ein Zimmer und nicht pro Person sind. Auf der Homepage steht aber extra, dass die 29 Euro für ein Doppelzimmer pro Person zu verstehen sind. Was ist denn nun richtig?

Sorry, da hab ich mich wohl nicht klar ausgedrückt; der preis von 29€ gilt pro Person, wenn man allerdings ein Doppelzimmer für sich alleine nimmt, muss man für die 2.Person auch mitzahlen, dh. 58€, egal ob man allein oder zu zweit drin liegt.

Of course you can get a double room for just one person, but there is no redueced price for a single room, so that means that you have to pay the normal double room price(58€). We don'`t have extra single rooms.

Es war einfach nur großartig. Es hat alles super funktioniert. Das Team ist einfache spitzenklasse und die Zimmer sind auch super.
Das beste Hotel für Junge Leute wie wir es sind :)
Werden sehr wahrscheinlich weitere Wombatslocations ausfündig machen :).

Nach 4 Wochen ununterbrochenem Hostel-Aufenthalt kann ich nun eines mit Sicherheit sagen: Wombats rocks! Echt eines der besten Hostels ever... und die Bar war einfach unschlagbar! :) werd bestimmt wiedermal nach Wien kommen! Liebi Grüess us de Schwiiz!

Right now we are in the middle of summer season and the hostel is booked out every day, so you would definitely need to book in advance, just write an email to our booking desk under office@wombats-vienna.at and they book you in.
If you are planning to come in winter it might be easier to get a bed spontaneously, but i would still recommend you to book in advance; if you can`t come then for any reason, you can cancel it without any charges until 24 hours before your arrival.

ich war vom 19. - 23.07.10 im Wombat's The Base mit meiner Klasse untergekommen und bin sehr zufrieden gewesen. Ich würde jeder Zeit wiederkommen und euch auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!
Der Service war freundlich, die Zimmer soweit relativ sauber (Sogar mit Ventilatoren - ich war begeistert!) und die Nächte ruhig, sofern man sie nicht in der WomBar verbracht hat. ;-)
War echt Spitze - besonders die Bar und die Terasse!

I'm coming to Your Hostel in the middle of August this year! with friends! Plese tell me, how long it takes to take metro from Westbahnhof station and get to the city centre? How much cost the ticets for metro for one run and how much for all day for one person? were are the ticets available to buy?

Hey Agata!

From Westbahnhof station you need to take the U3 metro and it takes you not more than 10 min. to get to the city centre.
A single ride costs 1,80€ and a day pass costs 5,70€, so if you take more than 3 rides a day, a day pass definitely is worth the money.
Furthermore there are 48h tickets for 10€ and 72h tickets for 13,60€ available.
The tickets you can buy in every metro station in Vienna, there are red machines where you can get them.

jus take the tram line Nr. 18, direction Burgagasse/Stadthalle, and get off at Westbahnhof. from there it is a 10 min. walk to our hostel.

There is no hostel parking space, but there is space around the hostel, we would recommend you to just come and park in one of the side streets; it might take a couple of minutes to find one, but you will find one at the end;-). Parking in the district is free. (apart from Mariahilferstraße, the mainstreet)

Ich habe gerade zwei Nächte im August bei euch gebucht und wollte nun fragen, wie das mit dem Frühstück ist? Muss man das auch vorher irgendwo buchen oder einfach beim einchecken dann sagen?
Außerdem landen wir schon um halb neun in Wien. Können wir unser Gepäck dann schon vor 14 Uhr irgendwo bei euch unterbringen oder müssen wir das so lange mti uns herum schleppen?

Das Frühstück ist bei uns ein Buffett, kostet 3,50€+ihr könnt euch dann einfach immer morgens an der Rezeption die Tickets dafür holen.
Das Gepäck könnt ihr natürlich jederzeit bei uns gratis unterbringen, d.h. kommt einfach gleich zu uns, wenn ihr ankommt, gebt das Gepäck in den Gepäckraum, macht ev. schon mal den Checkin+dann könnt ihr jederzeit ab 14Uhr den Schlüssel für euer Zimmer abholen.

Dalla stazione "Meidling" va con la metro U6, direzione "Floridsdorf", a "Westbahnhof", la stazione piu vicino al hostal.
