Munich’s Advent Spectacle and Medieval Christmas Fair / 12.12.2012

Christmas Fairs in Munich go back to late medieval times. A "St. Nicholas Fair" was already mentioned in 1410. The medieval fair at Wittelsbacherplatz (near Odeonsplatz) demonstrates how it could have been in those times. It ties in with an old Bavarian tradition and is known, due to its historical character, to have a special atmosphere.
